He shared that intimacy with someone else. In regards to the original post, I think his story was a load of tosh. One way or the other, he cheated/betrayed your trust/ assaulted you and well, good for you for dumping his sorry behind. Sharing a bed, IMO, is a very intimate thing. Even if they didn't have sex, unlikely, he still broke your trust. At best, it was an emotional affair, at worst, a physical one.

I sent him a short, smiley text the next afternoon thanking him for the nice time. No reply. No reply! The aftermath: Needless to say, he didn't text me that night. (Normally I'd sit back and let the guy initiate the 2nd date, but this time I felt like it was only right for me to apologize and see if he'd be open to giving it another chance). 4 days later, I texted again; I apologized sincerely for running off, explained my mistake, said I genuinely had a nice time with him, and asked if he'd like to meet up after work again.
