You can do this by engaging people more, smile and converse with different folks. @OP.....confidence is something that only you can work on daily in order to alleviate your anxiety.

I know it could jeopardize many things including my schooling etc. I just don't know what I should do. But lately he's all I can think about. Should I just ignore this stuff? How do I deal with this? Accidents and life happen, sending a quick text or call if one does could prevent miscommunication. That's a little weird, and can make meeting especially difficult if you're meeting up somewhere.

You aren't giving him any reason to respect you, so it is no surprise he does not. You don't screw around on people you love either, so it is also unlikely he loves you.
