I've never been personally in that situation but I've had close friends and a few family members who have been in that same position. Then, someone can help them but you're not the person to help them because whether someone is genuinely suicidal or just threatening it for a control tactic they have mental health issues that need to be diagnosed and treated by a professional. None of those people ever actually committed suicide, no.
