I would suggest, one of the key things for good mental health is flexibility. There must be some kind of anxiety to require a person to want to control the smallest things in this way. And I often think it must be very difficult to get through life when someone is so inflexible.

Drug use, going out, laziness and brushing serious problems under the rug, the exact same issues. Like you I'm currently pondering whether to leave her or not, and if not now, what hard limit I should set for her. And I know I have to set one because we are having issues and I forgave her a dozen times but none of her promises - exactly as in your case - are ever fulfilled.
